Daisy:	What are you doing, Tom?
Tom:	I'm reading a book about space exploration. I've learnt about the planets, the stars, satellites, rockets, and stuff. The book has made me crazy about the universe.
Daisy:	Yeah. Since ancient times, humans have always been dreaming about visiting space. However, it was just a fantasy until 1961, when Soviet astronaut Yuri Gagarin became the first person to fly into space.
Tom:	I really want to follow in his footsteps, flying into space and exploring life on other planets.
Daisy:	To become an astronaut, you have to obtain a bachelor's degree in science, mathematics or engineering. You need experience as a jet pilot, and you need to be in good health.
Tom:	Astronauts have to take several classes, don't they?
Daisy:	Exactly. In order for astronauts to get a feel for what they will be doing in space, they practise on life-sized models. For example, in order to be prepared for any emergency, astronauts take survival training.
Tom:	It must be demanding. I think I have to work very hard to make my dream come true.
